Un aiuto per l’Ucraina
Dopo la consegna della cittadinanza benemerita del Comune di Ozegna a Lidia Maksymowicz, sono lieto di aver partecipato alla proiezione del docufilm “70027: La Bambina Che Non Sapeva Odiare” proprio qui al Museo del Terrore di Leopoli, città natale di Lidia. Ciò che sta succedendo in Ucraina addolora tutti noi, ma la solidarietà non ha confini e il sostegno della nostra comunità è e continuerà ad essere fortissimo. Ringrazio fortemente il direttore dell’Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Kiev Carlo Colonnella per l’invito.
A seguito della proiezione del film, ho avuto l’onore di consegnare personalmente alla dottoressa Oksana Faiura lo zaino che è partito con me da Ozegna venerdì 2 febbraio. Un oggetto di importanza capitale. Non a caso lo definiscono “mini-sala operatoria”. Al suo interno sono presenti tutte le attrezzature per aprire le vie respiratorie, bloccare le emorragie e salvare le vite delle persone che sono state colpite dalle armi da fuoco.
La sinergia tra i comuni del nostro territorio e l’associazione Memoria Viva di Castellamonte, che ha promosso questa 42esima missione umanitaria, è stata fortissima e ha portato anche a un altro storico risultato: durante le giornate del Carnevale arriveranno a Ivrea alcuni bambini orfani ucraini, che parteciperanno alla manifestazione eporediese e faranno visita al nostro Comune e quello di Castellamonte.L’obiettivo per il futuro è quello di riuscire a portare al fronte almeno altri 8 zaini, ma sono lieto di annunciare che il 24 febbraio, proprio da Ozegna partirà una nuova missione umanitaria, per consegnare ulteriori aiuti a chi in questo momento sta soffrendo.
